“Tu Pasado Eso Mi Presente”

When I ponder identity, I envision two different realities. The experience of my immigrant parents and my experience as a
first generation Latina raised in Los Angeles. Many of us born in the United States are given a foundation to evolve our ways of living,
working and creating. The common archetypes in the immigrant experience continue to serve as a palette for future generations to transform.
Our privilege to express is made possible by the humble and hard work of our living ancestors.

The intention of “Tu Pasado Eso Mi Presente” is to blend those microcosms and change the narrative of how we identify and perceive
these archetypes. This project is an ode to our living ancestors given through the embrace of our present generation.
